Stephanie Parlier-Ponte

Stephanie was born and raised in sunny South Florida. She graduated from Florida State University with her master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education and concentrations in Severe Cognitive Disabilities and Autism. In the years since, Stephanie has worked as an Exceptional Student Education teacher in both public and private school settings teaching students with Autism, multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, complex communication needs, sensory impairments, and deaf-blindness.

While in her positions as an educator, Stephanie has also held various leadership roles including Curriculum Lead and Transition Coordinator. She has focused her continued professional learning and training in the areas of Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), and Deafblindness. Stephanie is a Perkins School for the Blind-Endorsed CVI Specialist who provides evaluation and consultation to families as well as school teams serving children with Cortical Visual Impairment.

Of her professional pursuits, Stephanie especially enjoys developing curriculum that integrates the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Literacy instruction. In her free time, Stephanie volunteers with animal rescue and watches true crime documentaries.
